The most straightforward answer is that my legacy is my descendants. I have kids and grandkids who will move forward into the future. I hope that I have played some small part in supporting and influencing them to be good, kind, and successful people. I am fiercely proud of all of my kids and all that they have achieved despite their circumstances. And despite having me for a mother.
The other answer is that I would like to leave behind some body of work that might make some future scholar or niche hobbyist care that I existed. What kind of work? There’s the rub. I have a ton of hobbies, some of which have potential cultural significance, but I am a dilettante. I don’t create anything of much depth and I lack consistency in my practice. I have recently decided to commit to writing and drawing daily, so maybe that will change.
