Prompt: Around the World

What countries do you want to visit?

I have some countries I would like to visit for vacation and some others that I would like to stay in for extended stints, at least a few months at a time, depending on what kind of visas we can wrangle. (I ‘d travel with my husband and our son, of course,)

I would like to visit Japan, China, and Korea on a tourist basis. I am not so much one for organized tours, but I mean that I would like to go for relatively short trips to see the sights and get a taste of the local experience.

For longer stays, I will break it down into Latin America and Europe. Most of these countries will be ones where one of us speaks the language or where there’s some sort of personal connection for one of us.

In the Western Hemisphere, I’d like to visit Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Mexico. Each country has its own attractions, and I think each would be valuable. I would like to visit major cities in each, practice my Spanish, get a better grip on each local dialect, and hopefully make some friends. In Paraguay, I’d like to learn some Guarani too.

In Europe, I’d like to spend some time in Sweden, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, and Italy. Each of these has a lot to offer, and I think we’d move to France or Italy in a heartbeat if we got the chance. My husband lived in Italy in his early teens and I know he’d love to share that kind of experience with our son as well.

In the meantime, there’s a lot of the US I have never seen, so that’s where we are going to start.
