How do you celebrate holidays?

Holidays bring out my playful side. I love to do it up big! If there’s a holiday, there should be a party. If there’s going to be a party, there should be music. If there’s going to be music, there should be dancing!
There will be fireworks if there’s any way we can make that happen. I don’t care if it’s only Arbor Day.
I love a raucous family gathering with a dozen kids running around, but I have always wanted to have a formal dinner party at Christmas time. In either case, I am a huge fan of catering. Nobody should be stuck in the kitchen when they should be with family and friends.
I love a party where people circulate freely indoors and outdoors, weather permitting. I also like for there to be a few “retreat” areas for the overstimulated, overwhelmed and oversocialized to get away to.
So, that’s what my ideal holiday celebrations are like. What actually happens is a usually a little different, but I can dream.
