I have been in the situation of losing all or nearly all of my possessions multiple times. This is not normal, of course. I have lost possessions to a housefire, a flood, and three long distance moves with no money to take things that couldn’t fit in my vehicle.
Maybe letting go is the lesson I am supposed to learn and pass on in life. If that’s the case, I’ve at least learned that lesson. I can’t say I’ve done much to share the lesson…
…UNTIL NOW. Here it is: everything is transient. Enjoy it while it lasts, and let it go when it is time. It’s uncomfortable when you aren’t ready, but you will survive and the irritation will pass. After a while, you will find you have once again accumulated more stuff than you actually need. Or even want.
