My ideal home would be a big, old farmhouse in the country with a first floor bedroom, full bath, and laundry room to accommodate my bad arthritis days. I’d like both an eat-in kitchen and a dining room, a living room and a den. It seems redundant until the whole family rolls up for a holiday.
Upstairs there’d be rooms for kids and grandkids, including a playroom. I’d have a nice pantry off the kitchen and a linen closet on each floor to keep towels and sheets near their point of use.
Outside, I’d want a fenced yard, a garden, and a chicken coup. I would have an outbuilding for my workshop/office/craft room. And since we’re talking about an ideal situation, I’d have a couple of cozy cabin ADUs for aging parents or guests.
