Considering Q1 Experiments

I laid down some ideas for Q4 and then did other stuff entirely. Sometimes that happens. Now it is December already! Q1 2025 is nearly upon us.

I have 4 major areas to work on: my work/ finances, my health, my spiritual journey, and my on-going quest to learn as much as I can stuff into my brain. I am going to attempt to commit myself to no more than one big goal per area.

I will start with my health, since that is my top priority and the thing that so many other things are riding on. Tomorrow morning I have an appointment to see about knee surgery. I hope that if I get my right knee replaced, well-healed, and strong, I might be able to put off the left knee for a while. In any case, I’m going to do whatever I can to get myself back on my feet. Literally!

On the career side, I am starting a new job on Monday— hybrid, temp-to-hire, no benefits at all— and I have other opportunities I am pursuing. I want to explore the topic of being on that hustle and grind without losing my sanity or humanity. I want to set out a tentative plan for the next quarter in those nifty planners I have waiting.

My learning quest for the first quarter is to complete trainings I have already started, after which I plan to throw myself wholeheartedly into re-learning Spanish. This is a language that I will have plenty of opportunities to use and for which resources are abundant, and it may potentially play into my future career as well.

As far as my spiritual journey, I’m considering my options. At the very least, I’m going to try to be kinder to myself and others.
