Part of my character is to overlook people’s flaws and give them the benefit of the doubt, so I have to say that I am a lousy judge of character. I am overly willing to give second chances and to believe that people will change when they realize the error of their ways. Occasionally, I am not wrong. Mostly, people disappoint me repeatedly.
The world needs people like me paired with cynics and pessimists to keep us grounded and safe from predators. And the cynics and pessimists need us to keep them in line with the reality that some people are worth the effort and sometimes things work out.
