The December Challenge

I made this myself. Hand-drawn on actual paper.

My challenge for December will be surviving December.

The holidays have been depressing me for a few years now for no good reason, but this year, I have a good reason. We’re broke. It’s going to be a challenge really making Christmas any good for our 10-year-old. I hope to make it memorable in many ways other than gift-giving, and when he does open gifts on Christmas morning, I want to make sure that every gift is high value to him. That means getting him a few things he really wants, rather than getting him a ton of things that he only kind of wants or that we wanted him to have for whatever reason, selfish or out of deep care for his well-being.

I wish he had a hobby cheaper than LEGO.

It’s going to be a busy month in any case, even worse than November, so the only thing I am going to commit to is attempting to post once a week to let all y’all know how it’s going.

Because my blog should provide a better value to you than just my bellyaching about my situation, I will give you a link: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/9870/easy-sugar-cookies/ .

It’s not my recipe, but I have made it before. It’s sugar cookies without the hassle of chilling and rolling and cutting and decorating. These are quick and easy. It’s a shortcut directly to Cookietown. Enjoy!
