Winter Dogstice

Yesterday we went for a nice hike in a state park for the winter solstice. I don’t have pictures to share because I didn’t take my phone. I feel like that really did help me be present in the moment, but it’s not doing a darn thing for this blog post.

We took our dog out with us. This was her first hike in the woods, and she loved it. There were so many things to sniff! There were new things to see and hear! And she is always happy to be included in whatever we’re doing.

She was good with hikers we passed. She’s a little timid with strangers at times, and heaven forbid one walk into our house while she’s on duty. She rooroorooroos at them fiercely. Strangely, she’s happy to meet strangers in our house as long as she doesn’t see them come in the door, no rooing necessary.
