February Retrospective

Well… That was a month, wasn’t it?

The big news for the month is that we got a dog— an older puppy, now 11 months old. She’s a sweetheart. We do need to get on properly training her though.

I haven’t really mentioned it here, but I applied for a few teaching programs suitable for career changers. I had my Teach For America interview in February. I felt that it wasn’t great. That’s okay. It is/was a back-up plan in case I can’t work out the financial aid at American University for City Teaching Alliance, where I was already accepted to be a resident teacher for Elementary school in Baltimore for the upcoming year. I also discovered a teaching residency program at a system of charter schools here in Pittsburgh that I am going to apply for as a back up to the back up. I will write a separate post to explain all this.

I decided to formally join the Catholic Church because that’s what I was raised with for a good part of my childhood and I want to have a spiritual community to belong to wherever I go.

That’s all the big news for February. Onward to March.
