Opportunities abound!

I have about five posts on the back burner right now, most of which are intended to “deliver more value to the reader,” but I am not going to stop posting my personal navel-gazing entries also, like the one you are about to read.

I have had opportunities for all kinds of exciting stuff popping up all over. The most recent event was getting called for an interview for a great job I applied for last week. That’s what I will be doing first thing on Monday morning. It’s a job in logistics, which I feel will allow me to transfer the analytical skills I developed in college. The pay starts at $29 an hour, which may not sound huge if you’ve been more successful than I have or if you live in an expensive metro area, but it would be the most I have made in any job ever if I get it.

I also have a final interview in the middle of November for the City Teaching Alliance and I have a back-up application well underway for Teach For America. These are opportunities to get into the classroom and teach, as well as being alternate paths toward certification. Either one should help moderate the amount of money I end up spending on the process. Those pathways are, of course, in service of goals related to education and educational entrepreneurship. They also dovetail nicely with my spiritual goal of serving my fellow human beings more.

When it rains, it pours, and when the sun comes back out, it shines pretty darn hard too!
