The word “peeve” sounds like it should mean something small and cute that you’d want to keep as a pet. But no.

Anyway, here are my top 3, which are actually all tied for first place:

1. People talking to me when I am reading.
2. People talking to me when I am writing.
3. Trash ending up anywhere other than a trash can.
