First, a confession: I love both The Sound of Music and It’s a Wonderful Life. No irony here, just complete sincerity.
But now on to the topic at hand, My Favorite Things! I found some really neat stuff while holiday shopping on Amazon this year, and I wanted to share some of the things that have gone onto my personal wishlist and that I bought as gifts.
I am an Amazon affiliate, so I am disclosing upfront here that I may make a small commission if you buy something through one of the links in this post. If you do, you have my sincere gratitude, but if not, that’s cool too. Find your best deal!
Folkmanis makes some amazing puppets. I bought my son a realistic rabbit hand puppet when he was a preschooler, and the quality was far above what I had expected. It was quite small, but so was he, so that worked out. This year, I spotted this giant clam puppet and fell in love. The raccoon in a trash can was a close second.

I hope I get assigned to one of the lower grades when I start teaching because I want a good excuse to break out some puppets. Heck, I might do that with middle grades too.
Another puppet that caught my eye and tickled my fancy was this sandwich puppet from Puppet Pals. How cute is that?! Probably a little too cute for my nearly 10-year-old son.
Or at least he would pretend that it was. He still loves his stuffies, but he’s in no hurry to tell his peers that.
He’s getting a die-cast 1:32 blue Lamborghini, which should be acceptable to the 4th grade boy crowd. He’s always talking about sports cars and points out this particular blue as his favorite car color, so I hope he likes it.
I have just been hit with a tsunami of fatigue, so I am going to wrap this up here and go lie down. I hope to come back and hit games, books, and accessories. I hope this post made you smile, even if all you did was look at the pictures.
