About

Hello!

My name is Mia.

In 2011, I realized that my life was, in all probability, more than half over. My worst fear is dying before I have lived, and that’s exactly where I was headed. So I ended an 18-year marriage, got a job, and went back to school. I became the first person in my family to graduate from college in 2016, at the tender age of 45, even with the surprise baby and the new marriage in the mix. Time has gone by, but I am still afraid of dying without living. Naturally, the thing one does in that sort of situation is to start a blog, right?

I want to do and try many things, and this will be my chronicle of successes, failures, and what I have learned. At the top of my agenda is creating a business so that I can accommodate my physical disabilities and mental health challenges while also freeing myself up to travel for practical reasons (my aging parents) and experiential reasons (seeing things).

I hope to monetize this blog at some point. If I have any sponsorships, affiliate relationships, or referral links, I will label them clearly. I want to only promote things that I genuinely believe will help people.

Thank you for coming to The Mia Experiment. It means a lot to me that you’re here.

Onward!
